My Website Portfolio:
Why do you need a website?
Iloilo is a prospering marketplace and is said to be the next big thing. To be singled-out above and beyond a prospering marketplace requires an Internet presence. Establishing an Internet presence for your company or organization can be one of the most important steps you take.
The Internet has changed the way we buy and sell products and services and the way we obtain information. Having a website is critical in today's market. It is the new advertising. Your web site is often the first impression an Internet user has of your company. A professional website design, just like your letterhead, logo and other stationery, should project a distinct and positive image on those who view them, and should lure your visitors to learn more about your company and to conduct business with you. Having a website can help broaden the scope of one's business. Customers shop and compare. Today, it is imperative for companies to embrace an online strategy in order to compete in the new e-economy.
How an effective website can help you
- The NTC estimated that there were 1.44 million internet subscribers of NTC-registered internet service providers (ISPs) in 2005. The ITU meanwhile, estimated that in 2004, there were 4.4 million Internet users or 5.32 users per 100 population in the Philippines.
- A large percentage of Filipinos local and abroad are online - can they find your business?
- Google Iloilo and your products – can you find your business in the list?
- Many people research their business needs at night - YOUR site will always be open to them.
- You can effectively compete against larger, big-budgeted businesses. The Internet levels the playing field for ALL companies, big and small.
- You can use your web site as an extension to current advertising (phone, newspapers, magazines, etc.) Enhance your business' professional image.
- You can use your web site to educate your customers and potential customers - a huge saver for you!!
- Dramatically increase sales by reaching more customers.
- Word of mouth referrals need a way to find and learn about your business!!
- Companies who embrace an online strategy will quickly find themselves in a leadership position because of their increased exposure in the global marketplace.
- Companies that ignore the web run the risk of having their existing competitors and emerging "dot coms" exploit the web to their advantage.
Just imagine the possibilities! Get your website now. And hire ME as your web designer!

Website Banners
Sometimes you don't need a whole website. Sometimes all you need is a banner for a header or an ad in some website spaces.
Planning the Look and Feel of a Website:
What is the main Purpose of your website?
- To gain a favorable impression of the company or organization.
- To develop a qualified list of prospects
- To sell products directly
- To encourage potential customers to contact us by phone or mail to consummate a sale.
- To make available product information and price lists to distributors.
- To make available product information and price lists to customers.
- To strengthen brand identification.
What type of website services do you require?
- New Informational Website (no flash, database, ecommerce)
- New Ecommerce Website
- New Database Driven Website
- New Flash Website (website created entirely in Flash)
Site Organization
How many pages do you need? Which page leads to where? How will you organize your content as they appear in you webpages?
Photos, Graphics, Animations, Sound, and Video
- Clipart tends to look a bit tacky on websites. We recommend photos.
- Photos you supply either by sending the photos themselves for us to scan and return, or by sending the digitized images on a diskette.
We can equip your webpages with:
- Sound (music or voice).
- Animated GIF images. We can also make animations for an extra charge.
- Shockwave / Flash Animations
- Video clips
Web Hosting Service
We are not in the web hosting business. We recommend to our clients web hosting services tailored to their specific needs. We usually do not recommend hosting on your local dial-up ISP, since they too often are not well-prepared to meet specialized business site hosting needs. Their main business is usually dial-up access, and hosting is only a sideline for them. Please let us recommend a Web host service for you.
Registering and Advertising Your Website
Consider:
- Advertising your Website to Web search engines that index the Web
- Giving customers a good reason to come by offering them something
- Finding industry-wide linking pages and negotiating reciprocal links to and from their webpages.
- Becoming active in several of the thousands of Internet news groups and mailing lists
- Developing a "signature" mini-ad attached to all your e-mail messages
- Making your website part of one or more of the many "malls."
- Including your e-mail and Web addresses on all your company's print literature, stationery, and display advertising
Information about number of visitors to your website can usually be obtained from your Internet Service Provider, from statistics generated daily by programs on the host computer. We do not include page counters on our Standard Website Packages.
We make meta keywords in your website for Web search engines. Before doing this, we work with you to get 50 to 100 keywords and a carefully constructed 25-word description of your website containing the most important keywords.
Maintenance
Package prices include minor updating over the first three months of the contract. This covers minor price changes, product changes, typo errors in your website. It does not include major changes, such as changing newsletter content (which essentially involves constructing a new webpage), which is billed at our hourly rate.
Planning Website Content
You'll find it's a considerable amount of work to prepare your materials for the Web pages we will construct for you. Think of us in this respect as your company's graphic designers. You supply the raw materials and we assemble them onto graphically pleasing, easy-to-read Web pages.
Some ideas to think about:
- Give reasons why your business clearly beats the competition?
- What is your USP (unique selling proposition)?
- What does your company do?
- How does your business and products benefit your target audience? What are the needs your business satisfies for your customers? What can your business offer your visitors, what's in it for them, how can you help them?
- What problems do your prospects have that your business solves?
- What is your vision for the web site? How will visitors interact with the web site?
- What are the specific short-term goals for the website in the first year? (reduce customer service workload, generate more sales)? What are the long-term goals for the website (in the first 1 to 3 years).
- Do you have another small business tucked away on an off-web location?
- How do you see the website and off-line business working together? What are the weak points of each and the strong points that can be exploited?
- What words or images will impart those needs? What analogies can be used to explain offers in simple, understandable terms?
- Do you have a business slogan or catch phrase? How will you use it to your company's advantage on the web site?
- Consider the features of your products and/or services. List their strong points.
- Consider the major topics for your site (i.e. Products, Services, Information, How to Contact us, Galleries, etc.).
- Consider including unique content on your site. Since most surfers are seeking information, the best sites are those that become hubs or portals. A site that contains large amounts of information (not readily available elsewhere) directly related to the product or service being sold may be far more successful than one that that only offers a product or service.
- What can be done to add value to products and services?
- What are your delivery policies? Consider any special shipping and handling charges or constraints on international orders?
