My Graphics Portfolio:
This site contains the following types of graphics:
- Vector Images - Take an original picture and convert it into a painting or a cartoon character
- Logos - I take an old logo and try to create a new look while preserving the real look or just create a new one
- Sketches - Drawings I made for past few years. They are not worth much but that's where my ideas go
- Photoshop Magic - A picture or photograph is transformed using Photoshop.
- Prints - examples of my work on print
Steps to a great relationship with your Graphic Artist
To have a solid, successful and cost effective relationship with your graphic artist, use the following process for your website design and for each and every piece of design work that you have the artist do:
Initial Design Discussion – Discuss your needs with the artist, provide as much relevant material as possible and agree to the steps you and the artist will go through as well as the estimated number of hours needed. Use this form as a starting point.
Initial Design Creation – The graphic artist will go away with your notes and any materials you provided and develop an initial design. The graphic artist will then send you an electronic copy of the initial design for you to review.
Independent Design Review – Pass the initial design around to as many friends, associates, clients, etc. as you can find and ask for feedback. Combine that with your own opinions on the piece and make as many detailed, written notes as possible. You are looking for one of three possible outcomes: the design is great as is, the design is workable with changes, the design is completely wrong.
Design Review Discussion – Unless the design is perfect, meet with your graphic artist. If the design is workable with changes, go over the changes with the artist and confirm how much time they will need to complete them. You're now at the Design Update step. If the design is not workable, state why, review the initial materials and discussion and attempt to set a new direction. You will be going back to the Initial Design Creation step. Barring a complete failure on the side of the artist, you will be expected to pay the artist for their time to date.
Design Update – The graphic artist will implement your changes as discussed in the design review.
Design Review – The design should now be essentially complete and correct. Any changes should be very minor. Examine the design in detail and confirm all spelling, colors, spacing, images, etc. Make detailed notes as to exactly what needs to be changed. If the changes are trivial or nonexistent, move to the Final Design Update stage – your design is done! If there are serious changes, then be prepared to move back to the Design Review Discussion stage. You should expect to pay the artist for an additional round of changes.
Final Design Update – The graphic artist will implement your last changes as discussed in the design review. You will receive the final artwork.
